Tribal Life and the Environment of Jammu and Kashmsir, India | Asian Journal of Sociological Rese...
Tribal people, who rely on their forest and environment for survival and identity, are the best people to take care of it. They are the best environmentalists on the planet, and they have been managing their agricultural land for centuries. Jammu and Kashmir is a landlocked hilly state in north India that contains the world's richest biodiversity reservoir. The rapid growth of industrialization and pollution, as well as the extinction of various species, pose a threat to biodiversity. It also has a significant impact on the lives of the state's tribal people. The country's tribal peoples have learned to live in a mostly pleasant environment. Various tribes in Jammu and Kashmir continue to live on or near the forest, relying on local flora and fauna for food, shelter, medicine, and ritual ceremonies. Plants that are conserved in their natural habitat are revered by tribal people as homes. Environmental hazards and forest destruction have resulted in the permanent extinction of various flora and fauna on the planet. It is an appropriate time to demand that biodiversity be protected and conserved in order to protect tribal people's traditional lifestyles and the global environment.
