Transient Global Amnesia Asociated with a Bilateral Chronic Ischemic Lesion: Case Report | Asian Jou
An abrupt onset anterograde memory impairment lasting 1 to 24 hours is characterised by transient global amnesia. Although the cause of transitory global amnesia is unknown, brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) diffusion sequences may reveal infarction-like diffusion-limiting lesions in the hippocampus in afflicted people. In this example, we wanted to describe a case of transitory global amnesia that began quickly, persisted for about two hours, and then disappeared entirely, with acute diffusion limitation in bilateral hippocampus areas on MRI diffusion sequence.
