The Perspective of RUB Academics on the Effectiveness of the Performance Management System and Its..
The purpose of this study is to investigate academics' perceptions of the Royal University of Bhutan's performance appraisal system's fairness and correctness, as well as its impact on their motivation. RUB used non-probability convivence sampling to select a sample of 120 professors from nine colleges. A questionnaire was utilised to collect data, and mean, T-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were employed to analyse the results. The outcomes of the study revealed that university academics consider their performance appraisal system to be moderately fair in terms of four categories of fairness (procedural, distributive, informational, and interpersonal) and rating accuracy. Multiple regression analysis revealed a statistically significant association between academic motivation and 'perceived fairness' and 'reported correctness of the performance appraisal system.' The more precise and fair the performance appraisal is, the more academics are encouraged to contribute to the organization's progress, resulting in a collective effort to attain the organization's goal.
