Piperazine (PIP) was given orally to C. versicolor that was spontaneously infected with p. orientalis at a dose of 400 mg kg-1 body weight. After 24 to 72 hours of post-drug treatment, PAS–positive material, glycogen, alkaline phosphatase, acid phosphatase, and proteins of vitellaria of p. orientalis were significantly reduced, while proteins and phenolases were moderately reduced. These findings show that PIP may have attacked these histochemical compounds in P. orientalis directly or indirectly, making it sensitive to the drug's effects.
