Teenage Marriage, Pregnancy, and High School Dropout Rate during COVID-19 in the Slum Area of Ra....

Using the family life course paradigm, this study looked at the link between young marriage, pregnancy, and high school dropout in the slums of Rajshahi City, Bangladesh, during the COVID-19 pandemic. We purposely picked 190 girls from the study area who had dropped out of classes 6 through 10. From June 2020 to May 2021, data on family background, teen marriage, number of pregnancies, and high school dropout were collected via questionnaire and interview. The data was analysed using descriptive and correlation approaches. The results of the correlation study revealed that teen marriage was linked to the number of pregnancies, which was linked to the dropout rate in grades 6 through 10. Further study and social policy may be influenced by the findings.
