STUDIES ON PHYSIOTOXICITY OF PAPER MILL EFFLUENTS ON ORYZA SATIVA L. VAR. IR 36 | BIONATURE

On Oryza sativa L. var. IR 36, the physiotoxicity of paper mill effluents was investigated. The effluent impeded germination, root and shoot growth, and had varying degrees of effect on chlorophyll concentration, sugar, protein, amino acids, and nucleic acids. The relationship between biochemical parameters and wastewater treatment was negative and highly significant (P 0.001). The crop growth was not aided by any of the effluent concentrations tried.
