STUDIES ON NITROGEN FRACTIONS OF SOME AQUATIC GROWTH FORMS | BIONATURE

In eleven aquatic growth forms, nitrogen fractions such as total, soluble, insoluble nitrogen, and crude protein were estimated and compared. Except for Hydrilla verticillata, there were no significant changes in nitrogen percentages across these diverse growth forms in connection to the different habits. Although Ottelia alismoides had a greater total nitrogen content, H. verticillata had higher levels of the other two nitrogen fractions, alcohol soluble nitrogen, insoluble nitrogen, and crude protein.
