STUDIES ON HEMOPROTEINS AND FREE RADICALS IN VIRCHOWIAN HANSENIASIS AND OTHER BODY DISODERS ........

Using the electron paramagnetic resonance technique at 77 K and 303 K, the hyperfine structure parameters of hemoproteins in four different body ailments are investigated. g value increases in all types of disorders (i.e. lepromatous leprosy, LL; pulmonary tuberculosis, PTB; burns and leukemia). In LL., PTB, burns, and leukaemia, the spin-spin relaxation time (T2) decreases systematically. In M. leprae infection, the line width H1/2 is observed to be extremely vulnerable.

In comparison to normals, one of the key contributions of this study is the discovery that Fe2+transition metal ions are in low concentration and Cu2+ metal ions are in high concentration in LL hemoprotein samples. Please see the link :- https://globalpresshub.com/index.php/BN/article/view/193
