STOMATAL STRUCTURE IN RELATION TO AGEING OF LEAVES IN CALOTROPIS PROCERA (AIT.) BR. | BIONATURE

The paper gives firsthand observations on the stomatal anatomy of Calotropis procera (Ait) Br. leaves as they age (Asclepiadaceae). Thick cuticular wrinkles form around the guard cells and the scars of glandular hair bases in older leaves. The detailed structure of stomata in young, mature, and elderly leaves, as well as their impact on plant physiology, has been examined.
