Reporting on COVID-19: How Indian TV Media Deliver Threat and Uncertainty over Efficacy was the subject of this study. The news coverage during the initial outbreak of the virus in India was investigated through a content analysis of Indian television news stations. We looked at stories on COVID-19 on the top two television channels. The Extended Parallel Process Model (EPPM), a fear appeal message processing model that has already been applied to health news coverage, served as the foundation for the empirical study. The results suggest that there was a lot of media attention, which created a lot of excitement and sensationalised the news items. In the context of EPPM, the news coverage placed too much emphasis on the threat rather than the preventative steps. Only one-third of the news items referenced individual and group preventative actions, and any statement that such precautions are effective was essentially non-existent.
