Process of Criminalizing Street Children in Bangladesh: an Empirical Study in the city of Dhaka....

Street children's involvement in criminal activities is not a new issue, but the rates of street children's involvement in crimes have been steadily increasing in Bangladesh and other nations around the world in recent years. The process by which individual street children are converted into criminals and criminals is known as criminalization. The study focuses on the criminalization of street children, the nature of their illegal actions, the causes for their criminalization, and the consequences of their criminalization on children. Because there were no defined numbers of street children engaging in various illegal behaviours, a quantitative technique and non-probability sampling were utilised in this study to choose the street children from the area. According to the statistics, the majority of criminals (54.7%) do so because of other people's motivations, while 66% do it because of the situation. The study's overall goal was to look into the criminalization of street children in Bangladesh.
