Performance Appraisal on Employees’ Motivation in Commercial Banks of Sokoto State, Nigeria.....

Organizations utilise performance assessment to determine the pace at which people perform, and it is usually determined by the organization's growth, progress review, and social recognition. The study's goal was to see how objective production and performance management affected commercial bank workers' motivation. Data was collected from 172 employees and managers who were chosen at random from ten commercial banks in Sokoto state with national authorization. A descriptive survey design was used in this investigation. The participants were given an online questionnaire that was divided into three parts. The demographic data was presented in a statistical table that was well-explained. With the help of SPSS, the two hypotheses were investigated using regression analysis and chi-square tools, respectively. The null hypotheses were rejected at the significant level of 0.000 in each test, indicating that all variables were significant. With a p-value of 0.0000.05, the data revealed that objective output has a significant impact on employee motivation. Similarly, with a p-value of 0.0000.05, the data revealed that performance management has a significant impact on employee motivation. Commercial bank management was advised to reconsider the usage of performance appraisal templates when pushing personnel for increased productivity. Employees should not only be motivated based on their performance, but also on their documented performance appraisals, according to the study.
