Background: Our healthcare system continues to be burdened by a massive infectious illness burden and the increasing rise of multidrug resistance microorganisms. Antibiotic policies are frequently implemented as part of an antibiotic stewardship programme to assist minimise needless antibiotic use and improve management. Antimicrobial medications are the biggest therapeutic contribution of the twentieth century. Their introduction altered physicians' perceptions of the impact that medications can have on diseases. They are one of the few medications that can cure rather than just relieve symptoms. In developing countries, where infectious diseases are prevalent, their importance is amplified. They are one of the most commonly used and misunderstood drug classes.
Methods: At GOVT, the investigation was conducted as a prospective observational study over a six-month period. BONAIGARH SUB-DIVISIONAL HOSPITAL, SUNDARGARH, ODISHA The investigation took done in the Indore and Outdore departments, as well as the Emergency Department, where physicians had administered antibiotics for common infections and minor surgeries. The information on patient demographics, diagnosis, and antibiotics administered was collected using a data extraction form.
Discussion and Conclusions: Maximum antibiotics are usually recommended to people between the ages of 12 and 30 for a variety of infectious diseases. Penicillin and semi-synthetic penicillin are the most commonly prescribed antibiotics in the study area. The Drug of Choice was oral semi-synthetic Penicillin, which was included with the Prescription. Villagers are suffering from a variety of bacterial infections that are accompanied by fever, cough, and other respiratory problems.
