OVARIAN ATROPHY : A MAJOR CONSEQUENCES OF 1-ALLYL, 4, 4, 6-TRIMETHYL-1H, 4H-PYRIMIDINE-2-THIOL .....

The ovarian tissue of Dysdercus koenigii was severely damaged after a four-hour contact treatment with 25 mg 1-Allyl-4, 4, 6-Trimethyl-1H, 4H-Pyrimidine2-Thiol (ATPT) diluted in 5 ml acetone. Trophocytes, trophic core, prefolicular tissue, and the oogonia disintegrate in the germarium, followed by similar alterations in the vitellarium, where the effect is differential, since mature oocytes populating its basal portion remain untouched. Oocytes that are somewhat mature dissolve and are resorbed. The subsequent development of the oocytes is further hampered by the germarium's destruction. By the seventh day following therapy, the ovaries have completely atrophied. There has been no evidence of recovery from this illness.
