Because offline classes could not be held owing of the Covid-19 outbreak, teachers looked into online teaching. In the pre-Covid-19 period, niche firms in the education sector investigated online instruction as a premium service. The research examines the benefits and drawbacks of online education in the current environment. India has a chance to pursue online teaching as a long-term strategy for inclusive and relevant education because of its existing digital infrastructure and young population profile. For online instruction, regulatory agencies must assess teacher training and behaviour issues. To share resources among educational institutions while maintaining faculty autonomy and motivation, an integrated method is required. Promoting teacher entrepreneurship and encouraging them to open their own micro online institutions would go a long way toward institutionalising online education and harnessing the untapped potential of India's dedicated instructors. Online education can help India reap the benefits of its demographic dividend.
