OCCURRENCE OF TRANSMIGRATION IN LEUCAS CEPHALOTES SPRENG | BIONATURE
In the Lamiaceae species Leucas cephalotes Spreng., chromatin materials were detected migrating between neighbouring sporocytes (PMCs). Three to six pollen mother cells were observed participating in nuclear material transmigration. The presence of cytoplasmic bridges was clear. Transmigration was discovered to be unidirectional and to occur at various phases of microsporogenesis. Transmigration's usefulness in plant breeding and agriculture development is underlined.
