NEW EPIDERMAL FEATURES ON LEAVES OF OPHIOGLOSSUM ELIMINATUM | BIONATURE
The leaves of Ophioglossum are described in detail in this study. These are: (1) Hydathode-like tissue that tears to generate canals, (2) Twin stomata that occur frequently, and (3) the presence of intracellular Anabaena in some cells surrounding canals. These characteristics are thought to be adaptive responses of O. eliminatum, a natural hybrid.
