The antiepileptic drug sodium valproate's mutagenic effect was examined using the mouse bone marrow micronucleus test. Experimental animals were given the medication intraperitoneally at doses of 26.66, 133.0, and 266.6 mg/kg body weight. At various time intervals, bone marrow micronucleus preparations were prepared. At larger doses, the medication caused statistically significant micronuclei.
