MORPHOLOGY OF TRACHEARY ELEMENTS OF SOME INDIAN FERNS | BIONATURE

Five ferns from Rajasthan, India, were studied for their tracheid length and breadth, lateral wall pitting, and length of oblique overlap area. Only Nephrolepis cordifolia and Tectaria macrodonta had rectangular reticulate tracheids, whereas Pteris vittata, Ampelopteris prolifera, and Cyclosorus dentatus had branched tracheids with a variable organwise frequency. Root and rhizome of P. vittata and A. prolifera, as well as root of N. cordifolia, had shorter tracheids with transverse overlap region. There are also suspected vessel members in the root and rhizome of P. vittata and the root of N. cordifolia. Please see the link :- https://globalpresshub.com/index.php/BN/article/view/9
