MORPHOGENIC STUDIES ON SHOOT TIP CULTURE OF CICER ARIENTINUM L.|BIONATURE

On MS media supplemented with BAP, Kn, IAA, IBA, and NAA in various concentrations and combinations, several shoots were induced from shoot tip explants of an in vitro grown seven days old seedling of Cicer arietinum. On a medium supplemented with BAP (2.0 mg/I) and NAA (0.5 mg/I), the maximum number of shoots 13-24 were achieved. Isolated shoots were rooted in a mixture of IBA (2 mg/l) and BAP (0.5 mg/l) in a basal medium. Plantlet formation and subsequent acclimatisation are the subject of more research.
