INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT OF STEM ROT (SCLEROTIUM ROLFSII) OF GROUNDNUT WITH FUNGICIDAL COMPATIBLE SEED

The isolate GSE-4 showed the most inhibition (91.48 percent) while the isolate GRE-15 showed the least inhibition (60.37 percent) from the bacteria pool of the 33 bacterial antagonists evaluated by dual culture technique. The isolate GSEF-2 was found to be superior to the other Trichodermaisolates (78.15 percent ). The potential antagonist GSE-4 was shown to be more compatible with mancozeb (1.20 percent) and less compatible with thiophanate methyl when tested with various fungicides (0.63 percent ). In pot culture investigations, plant growth metrics such as maximum plant height (21.67 cm), maximum root length (10.50 cm), maximum shoot weight (10.80 g), and maximum root weight (1.16 g) were recorded in the treatment T6, which included seed and a possible BCA + seed treatment with fungicide. As a result of these findings, biological control employing the fungicidal tolerant potential antagonistic isolate GSE-4 can be used in the context of integrated disease management to treat Sclerotium rolfsii-induced groundnut stem rot.
