Institutional Factors Influencing the Effective Implementation of Youth Unemployment Intervention...

In most regions of the world, the young population has been quickly increasing over time. Along with this rise, the active sector of the population has faced a slew of issues throughout the world. The goal of the study was to see how youth empowerment through unemployment intervention programmes affected young people's employability in Nakuru County. The statistical association between youth empowerment in unemployment intervention programmes and youth employability was determined using regression analysis. The regression findings demonstrate a positive and significant relationship between the frequency of funding access and young employability (=0.373, p=0.000). The findings also revealed a substantial and favourable association between training and young employability (= 0.317, p=0.011). Furthermore, years of work experience (experience) and youth employability were shown to be strongly associated ( =0.441, p=0.000). The findings showed that if the number of entrepreneurial trainings, Z2, and the years the youth have been self-employed, Z3, are held constant, a unit increase in the number of times the young have received the money, Z1, will result in a 0.373 rise in Youth employability. Similarly, if Z1 and Z3 are maintained constant, a unit increase in youth entrepreneurship training leads to a 0.317 rise in youth employability. If Z1 and Z2 are maintained constant, a unit increase in the years that youth have worked for themselves will result in a 0.441 rise in youth employability. Policymakers should focus on enhancing institutional variables that impact the effective implementation of unemployment policies, according to the report. There is also a need to enhance the ability of youth programme implementers so that they are equipped with essential current skills to cope with dynamic and emerging young challenges. Future research might concentrate on additional elements such as technology, legal framework, and youth exchange programmes, and how these factors affect the effective execution of youth unemployment intervention initiatives, according to the findings.
