INFLUENCE OF URANYL NITRATE ON SEED GERMINATION AND EARLY SEEDLING GROWTH OF VIGNA RADIATA ......

During seed germination and early seedling growth, the toxic effects of various dosages of uranium on several growth parameters in Vigna radiata L. Wilczek were investigated. Even at the lowest (2.5 g/ml) uranium dose investigated, root-shoot length, dry weight, and chlorophyll content all decreased. Despite the fact that germination time was affected, ultimate germination was always 100%, except at the greatest uranium concentration (160 g/ml).
