The influence of phosphorus and molybdenum on yield and its contributing characteristics in 'Gaurav' Soybean (Glycine max. (L.) Merr.) was investigated during the rainy (Kharif) season of 1990-91. The treatment of 80 kg P2O5/ha resulted in the highest seed yield, seed index, primary branches, pod bearing length, and plant height. The addition of molybdenum to the soil at a rate of 1.0 kg/ha boosted seed yield Hl, seed index, pod weight, and pod number. Increases in the levels of both nutrients had a negative impact on these characteristics.
