INDUCTION OF ANDROGENIC DIHAPLOIDS FROM THE F1 HYBRIDS OF SAFFLOWER (CARTHAMUS TINCTORIUS L.).......

The callusing and plantlets regeneration of five Safflower Viz. F1hybrids, namely HUS-305 x Th-10, N-62-8 x Th-10, JSF-7 x Th-10, Mangira x Th-10, and A-1 x Th-10, as well as the influence of elements such as light, growth regulators, and hybrid genotype are discussed. Light has been shown to have a stimulating effect on callus induction in recent research. At greater concentrations, the combination of 6-benzyl aminopurine (BAP) and -naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) promoted organogenesis and plant regeneration.
