HPLC ANALYSIS REVEALS PRESENCE OF ALKALOID IN LEAF AND SEED EXTRACTS OF TRICHODESMA INDICUM (L.) R.

Five alternative procedures were used to extract alkaloid content from Trichodesma indicum leaf, flower, and seed samples. From leaf, blossom, and seed samples, Harborne's approach yielded the most alkaloid residues. The presence of alkaloid in leaf and seeds was confirmed by colour testing, TLC, and HPLC, but not in flowers.
