HISTOMORPHOLOGY OF THE FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM OF UDUMBARIA NAINIENSIS GROVER (CECIDOMYIIDAE ....

The histomorphology of numerous components of Udumbania nainiensis' female reproductive system has been investigated. The two short lateral oviducts lead into the common oviduct, which is polytrophic. A single spermatheca and a pair of accessory glands are present in conjunction with these structures. These, as well as the common oviduct, lead to the genital chamber at the ovipositor's base. The genital chamber, in turn, is connected to the outside via an egg pore located just below the ovipositor's apex. The retractile ovipositor is of the aciculate type.
