HEMATOLOGIC PROFILE OF ALGERIAN LOCAL POPULATION RABBITS: EFFECT OF SEASON | BIONATURE
The aim of this study was to create reference blood biochemical values for local rabbit does in Tiaret over two seasons, hot and cold, in a semi-arid environment in Tiaret, Algeria. In this experiment, seventy-nine does from the local population of rabbits were used, as well as a variety of mature female rabbits (54 on hot season and 25 on cold season). The rabbits were raised in a suitable environment at the University of Tiaret's experimental farm. The amount of red blood corpuscles (RBC), haemoglobin concentration (Hb), hematocrit (Ht), average volume of red blood corpuscles (MCV), total number of leukocytes (WBC), mean corpuscular haemoglobin (MCH), mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration (MCHC), and platelets number were all determined using an automated cell counter. Important variations in biochemical parametes were discovered after statistical analysis of the results. Finally, the season had an effect on the majority of parametes.
