Finfinnee and the Oromoo: The Need to Redeem Historical Injustice Done to the Oromoo in the Course..

Finfinnee was once the abode of Maccaa and Tulama Oromoo. However, when Menelik II established Addis Ababa as the king's permanent seat, tens of thousands of Oromo clans, including Gullallee, Galaan, and Ekkaa, to mention a few, were uprooted from their homeland [Finfinnee] and sent to the south and west. Since then, the Oromoos' migration from Finfinnee has continued unabated, leaving injustice unabated. Save for the sincerity of the conversation, Ethiopian people's reconciliation is nearly the first page of every Ethiopian news outlet. The goal of the article is to correct past wrongs done to the indigenous Oromo to the land previous to its establishment, which is what authentic reconciliation entails. The paper is based on a literature research and interviews with important informants such as Abbaa Gadaas. As a result, the qualitative methodology is used. As a result, important literatures on Finfinnee, indigenous peoples/societies protection, and a variety of other topics were evaluated. According to the findings, the Oromoos' migration from Finfinnee resulted in settlers' domination over indigenous peoples on the land [Finfinnee], reducing the Oromoos to a minority in the region. Reversing the Oromo flight from Finfinnee to Finfinnee could atone for previous injustices committed against indigenous Oromo clans who made their homes on Finfinnee. The governments of Oromia National Regional State and Addis Ababa city, as well as the federal government, must work to re-establish and protect indigenous Oromoos, particularly Maccaa and Tulama Oromoos, who have been historically harmed by Addis Ababa's establishment and expansion, which must be halted.
