EVALUATION OF WHEAT GENOTYPES FOR MOISTURE STRESS TOLERANCE | BIONATURE

Under moisture stress caused by polyethylene glycol, 98 wheat germplasm lines were examined for Germination Stress Index (GSI) (-5 MPA). The findings revealed that 11 germplasm lines were moisture stress tolerant, 5 were somewhat tolerant, and the other lines were sensitive. With heritability of 64.52 percent and genetic gain of 17.39 percent, the GSI found moderate genotypic and phenotypic coefficients of variation.
