ESTIMATION OF VARIOUS PHENOTYPIC AND GENOTYPIC VARIABLES IN SOME CLONES OF POPULUS DELTOIDES........
In Kalyani, West Bengal, India, forty clones of Populus deltoides were grown in new alluvial soil to examine phenotypic variability in nine traits using genotypic co-efficient of variation (GCV), phenotypic co-efficient of variation (PCV), and environmental co-efficient of variation (ECV). Heritability (in the broadest sense) and genetic progress were also calculated. It was discovered that in such an agroclimatic location, a wider range of genotype selection is achievable. More research like this could improve the chances of finding and growing the best genotype.
