EFFECT OF SODIUM FLUORIDE ON SORGHUM | BIONATURE

The response of Sorghum bicolor L. Moench C.S.V. 10 seedlings to various sodium fluoride concentrations was investigated. When specific growth properties of sodium flouride-treated plants were characterised and quantified, it was discovered that fresh weight, dry matter accumulation, and shoot and root growth were all reduced. Though, when compared to the control, a low dosage (0.1mM) of sodium fluoride was determined to be optimal for seedling shoot growth. The reduction in chlorophyll was also noticeable at greater sodium fluoride concentrations. Similarly, the higher amounts of sodium fluoride treated Sorghum seedlings reduced carbohydrate and protein content significantly.
