EFFECT OF SALICYLIC ACID ON WATER RELATION PARAMETERS ON GLYCINE MAX L. | BIONATURE
Salicylic acid (SA) is a novel planthormone that has been found to influence flowering, disease resistance, and various physiological processes in plants (Raskin, 1992a) (Raskin, 1992b). Furthermore, the hormone has been identified as playing a key function in signal transduction, particularly in plants with systemic acquired resistance (SAR) Gehlot et al., 1997. However, nothing is known regarding its impact on plant water relationship factors. The effect of SA on transpiration, leaf conductance, and leaf temperature in soybean grown under suboptimal water irrigation is reported in this study.
