Effect of Enrolment in Education Institutions on Economic Growth in Nigeria | Asian Journal of Econo

Any country's economic progress is critical. The number of people enrolled in educational institutions is one of the most critical elements in a country's economic performance. To stimulate enrolment in educational institutions, the Nigerian government has implemented several programmes and reformed the education system. Regardless of these efforts, Nigeria's economic development has been on a decreasing trend. In terms of actual evidence on why this is the case, several studies have generated conflicting results. The study's goal is to look at the impact of educational institution enrollment on Nigeria's economic growth. The study's goal was to look at the impact of elementary school enrollment, secondary school enrollment, and tertiary school enrollment on Nigeria's economic growth. Data was gathered from Nigerian Statistical Abstracts, World Development Indicators, and Economic Surveys. The autoregressive distributed lag approach was used to estimate. As a result, elementary school enrollment had no impact on Nigerian economic growth, secondary school enrollment had a positive impact on Nigerian economic growth, and tertiary enrollment had no impact. Secondary school enrollment in Nigeria is crucial for advancement, according to the data. In order to promote growth, the Nigerian government should support policies that enhance secondary school enrollment as well as measures to improve primary and secondary school enrollment.
