P. triflorum Roxb., P. maritimum Linn., and P. tortuosum Herb. are diploid species, while P. longiflorum Roxb. is a polyploid. To our knowledge, fresh records of chromosomal number and karyotype analysis have been made for the first time in P. triflorum Roxb., P. tortuosum Herb., and P. longiflorum Roxb.
