Critical Race Theory and the Prevalence of White Privilege in Education | Asian Journal of Sociolo..

In the educational system, race is still an issue of debate. "Race is still a significant fact in society in general and education in particular," Dixson and Rousseau [1] write (p. 8). The notion that all people in the world should have the same economic, social, and political rights, regardless of gender, colour, socioeconomic background, or other qualities [2] is known as social justice. Social justice would be widely practised in the educational system in an ideal society. Inequality and white privilege, on the other hand, have been noticed in my teaching experiences, such as white children having an easier time gaining entrance to schools because admission boards are overwhelmingly white. As a supporter of social justice, this concept has influenced and changed my teaching philosophy, and I've worked to learn more about the Critical Race Theory (CRT) framework and the concept of white privilege in order to grow as an educator and develop a teaching philosophy that promotes social justice and prepares students to be responsible global citizens in the future.
