COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF WATER BODIES OF RANCHI WITH REFERENCE TO ALGAL DIVERSITY | BIONATURE

Ranchi lake, Line tank, West Jail road tank, and Hatania tank are four water bodies in Ranchi (Jharkhand) that have been investigated with the goal of monitoring their physico-chemical health on a monthly basis for a year. These bodies of water, which accept primarily domestic and municipal trash, are located in densely populated areas. Algal flora has been identified, and the frequency of species variety of typical algal flora in relation to physico-chemical parameters has been determined. The Water Quality Index is calculated based on a number of critical physical and chemical variables. These studies presented convergent lines of evidence for pollution assessment.

This has been reemphasized: biologists and planners must make considerable efforts to revive fresh water sources in order to make them more useable in order to cope with the ever-increasing population burden.
