Chief Executive Officers Share Ownership and Performance: A Review and Research Agenda | Asian Journ

Share ownership by the chief executive officer (CEO) is becoming more common in the business world, a trend that is being studied as a sign of organisational trust. From literature reviews and empirical findings, this study presents an overview of chief executive officer share ownership and performance in industrialised countries. The work adds to the body of knowledge in this field in underdeveloped countries. Literature reveals two schools of thought: the first holds that there is a link between chief executive officer ownership and organisational performance, while the second has the opposite perspective. According to the findings, there are mixed results when it comes to chief executive officer share ownership and performance. As a result, this report lays the groundwork for a research programme in developing nations to see if CEO share ownership affects performance.
