Can Whistle-blowing Policy Promote the Nigerian Economy? A Review

The whistleblowing policy was enforced as a way to collect complaints about funds diverted illegally from economic growth or nation-building into private pockets. Nigeria's Federal Government has made it a priority to combat corruption and recover illegally obtained funds from individuals and public officials. Through rewarding any genuine whistleblower, the government reinforced and motivated the programme. The aim of the study was to determine the degree of enforcement based on the amount of money recovered and the impact on the Nigerian economy.It was discovered during the course of this research that there is a connection between whistleblowing and the Nigerian economy. Furthermore, the government's guarantee of whistleblower confidentiality was based on the quality of the details disclosed on the portal.
