BUCCAL MUCOSAL X-CHROMATIN FREQUENCY AND PREGNANCY | BIONATURE

This study, which used buccal mucosa smears from 100 women, 25 of whom were controls and 75 of whom were pregnant at various stages of pregnancy, supports the idea that the decrease in x-chromatin frequency during pregnancy may be due to interference by endogenous steroid sex hormones.
