Application of Markov Model to the Study of Asthma in Nigeria (A Case Study of Federal Medical Cen..
Asthma is a respiratory illness in which the airways that allow air to travel into and out of the lungs constrict over time, causing coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath. This disorder makes the victim feel uncomfortable, and it might lead to a premature death. As a result, we wish to predict the incidence of Asthma in the future and define the age group that is most impacted by Asthma. Federal Medical Centre Jalingo provided the sample data. The problem was solved using a Markov chain model, and the maple 13 programme was used to draw the graph of the sample data and the expected transition probability, which indicates that as the year progresses, the predicted transition probability grows. The anticipated transition probability clearly illustrates that the number of asthmatic patients grows with time. It was also discovered that state 1 has the most Asthmatic cases, followed by state 3, and then state 2.
