AIR POLLUTION AND PLANTATION STRATEGIES AROUD INDUSTRY | BIONATURE,

Air pollution is a serious issue. Any disturbance to plants has a negative impact on the natural balance. Plants have long been known to have a high potential for surviving in contaminated environments. Each plant's tolerance level for air pollution varies, and plants do not behave in the same way. Stress can be avoided or sustained through physiological adjustment of hazardous contaminants entering the plant body, according to universal logic. Plant responses to contaminants are thus influenced by a variety of factors. Singh and Rao (1983) proposed a method for calculating a plant's Air Pollution Tolerance Index based on many parameters. Plants with a higher index value are more resistant to pollution and can be utilised as a filter or sink to reduce pollution.
