Acute Motor Axonal Neuropathy Variant of Guillain Barre Syndrome: A Rare Presentation of COVID-19 |

Covid-19 has become a global epidemic. It began in China in December 2019 and spread throughout the world over the next several months. China declared the first fatality from the virus on January 11th. One of the unusual problems linked with SARS Cov 2 is described here. Guillain-Barre syndrome is a rare consequence of Covid-19 that has been described. Due to compromised lung parenchyma or pulmonary embolism, the majority of patients are intubated. GBS should be considered if respiratory failure is accompanied by limb weakness.

For the last week, a 65-year-old man had loose faeces, vomiting, and a temperature. He tested positive for Covid-19 upon admission. After one week in the hospital, he acquired paralysis in his lower and upper extremities. The results of nerve conduction investigations showed IVIG or PLEX can help individuals with the AMAN type of GBS improve their outcomes. Patients who are unable to be weaned off of their medications should be evaluated for these treatments.

The new corona virus has the potential to induce a wide range of symptoms in its host. It can cause modest symptoms such as a dry cough, body pains, loss of smell or taste, loose stools, and vomiting, followed by the patient's full recovery, or moderate to severe illness with shortness of breath and lung parenchyma involvement. ARDS, or multiorgan dysfunction, is a term used to describe severe illness, and it can lead to a variety of consequences. Initially, pneumonia and its complications were thought to be the cause of death. Many stroke victims were later discovered to be covid positive.
