A STUDY ON ABO AND Rh(D) BLOOD GROUPS AMONG THE KOPPALAVELAMA CASTE OF ANDHRA PRADESH | BIONATURE

The frequency distribution of the ABO and Rh(D) blood groups among the Koppalavelama, an Andhra Pradesh caste population, was investigated. The gene frequencies for the ABO blood group system (n=207) were computed as 0.1524 (p), 0.1963 (q), and 0.6513. (r). The Rh(D) negative characteristic (n = 207) had a gene frequency (d) of 0.1554. These frequencies were also compared to those of neighbouring caste populations in Andhra Pradesh that were accessible.
