A NEW SINGLE NUCLEOTIDE POLYMORPHISM AND ONE – ALLELE SYSTEM FOR NLAIII-RELP IN EXON 6 OF LIVIN GENE

Livin belongs to the inhibitor apoptosis protein family and is overexpressed in a number of solid tumours and cancer cell lines, although its expression and clinical significance are unknown. The allele frequencies of the NlalII -248 polymorphism were examined in 200 chromosomes from 100 unrelated normal Korean persons after a new NlalII -RFLP, single nucleotide polymorphism, was discovered near codon 248 of exon 6 of the gene in one Philippine. As a result, just one allele system was found in Koreans: the absence of the NlalII 248 location.
