COMPARISON OF ETHANOLIC EXTRACT YIELD, pH, POLYPHENOLS AND FLAVONOIDS IN ALGERIAN PROPOLIS COLLECTED
Abstract The present work aims to guage the yield, pH, the whole polyphenols and flavonoids contents in propolis collected from completely different ecosystems in Algerie. 10 samples of propolis, issued from completely different floral and geographical origins, are collected by beekeepers between March and Apr 2015 and were classified in step with the countries (Est, West, Center and South) the samples were labelled from P1 to P10 and unbroken in dark at 4°C till use. The determination of polyphenols and total flavonoids contents was disbursed in an exceedingly specialised laboratory in European nation. during this study, the propolis collected from the southern and western regions had the best concentrations of polyphenols ninety nine,98; 71,6 and 76,1 Gallic acid/g of propolis. the identical result was obtained for flavonoids with fifty four,4; 38,7 and 42,9 mg Quercetin/g propolis. the upper yield, once ethanolic extraction of the propolis, was obtained from the southern region sample (P10) with a rate of thirty-nine,32%. Our study showed that the richest propolis samples of Algerie, in total flavonoid and total polyphenol contents were those collected from the southern (P10) and also the western region (P6 and P8).
