Gametophyte development in Arthromeris mairei (Brause) Ching was studied and located to be of ‘Drynaria type’. Germination occurred 10-12 days once sowing of spores. several prothalli showed Associate in Nursing initial plant organ part, that persisted throughout flora development and also the reproductive structure part developed on separate thalli once a spot of 5-7 days and persisted throughout the time period of the gametophytes. this kind of development of sex organs is resembled to some extent, except few variations with the reproductive organ development of Arthromeris himalayansis (Ganguly et al. 2009), in all probability thanks to the similar kind of ecological and climate wherever they grow. this kind of gametangial development on separate prothalli is a sign of adaptation for cross-fertilization.
