INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT OF STEM ROT (SCLEROTIUM ROLFSII) OF GROUNDNUT WITH FUNGICIDAL COMPATIBLE SEED
Abstracts
Of all the 33 bacterial antagonists screened by dual culture technique, the isolate GSE-4 showed maximum inhibition (91.48%) and the isolate GRE-15 recorded least (60.37%) per cent inhibition from bacteria pool. Among the Trichodermaisolates the isolate GSEF-2 found to be superior (78.15%). Compatibility of potential antagonist GSE-4 with different fungicides revealed that it was more compatible with mancozeb (1.20%) and less compatible with thiophanate methyl (0.63%). The plant growth parameters like maximum plant height (21.67cm), maximum root length (10.50 cm), maximum shoot weight (10.80 g) and maximum root weight (1.16g) was recorded in the treatment T6, integrated with seed and potential BCA + seed treatment with fungicide in pot culture studies. Thus, these findings indicated that biological control using fungicidal tolerant potential antagonistic isolate GSE-4 can be exploited in the frame work of integrated disease management to manage the stem rot of groundnut incited bySclerotium rolfsii.
